Wonderful atmosphere when we came in.
    Clean.
    Staff were lovely.
    Coffee $2.25 was good.
Hot Chocolate $2.95, Swiss Miss no whipped Cream.
Eggs Benedict $8.95. = Bland, Poor.
Potatoes and Gravy $6.95 = Torturously bland, Very Poor.
But the Water was both Cold and Wet!

Tip +20%, our waitress was lovely.

    Not coming back here again!

I went to breakfast today on Mother's Day and decided to get food to-go. I got to the cashier/manager, watched her ring in my check and noticed she kept putting in $1.00 charges. I asked her what the charges were for, she said "to-go containers for the food you purchased". These are run of the mill white styrofoam containers that this woman had the audacity to charge for. I will never go back to this place the food was cold and bland at best and their establishment was disgusting. Beware, next time I will read google reviews before going.

I gave Garden Grill 5 stars because it does what it sets out to do perfectly, not because it is the fanciest, flashiest, or best restaurant in Broward.

Being a native midwesterner, there are small mom and pop breakfast diners as far as the eye can see where I grew up. You know when you stop in at one, you will get good service, a solid breakfast at a reasonable price, and some outdated chairs and tables. It is just the way of the world. Garden Grill fills that void to a t.

When we walked in, we immediately found a booth, and the waitress brought us coffee. As you would expect in a small local diner, there was a table of police officers having breakfast, flanked by a few table of old men nursing a cup of coffee and catching up on the morning paper. It is really a slice of pure Americana, something that is intangible and can't be built with a trendy building on the beach. It is something that is increasingly difficult to find in SoFlo.

The waitress was chatty and friendly. As she made jokes and struck up random conversation about some interesting story from her life, the feeling of being from a small town washes over you, almost as if you have known this lady for decades and she was telling you about the latest town happenings.

The menu is your basic breakfast fare, and priced well. The eggs and bacon and omelettes are cooked to order, and come out quickly. The coffee is nothing extravagant, but gets the job done. You pay at the counter when you are done. Being that this was a weekday morning, the experience may differ on a weekend, but this is just the kind of place to visit if you are looking for that salt of the earth, hometown breakfast scenario seen in so many films. If you are looking to experience something truly unique to South Florida, but something that is such a large part of the culture of much of the rest of the country, The Garden Grill is your jam. Check your South Beach expectations at the door, and revel in the blue collar vibe of a local breakfast diner.

Just your regular hometown diner service is good as well as breakfast items except the creamer they give you is a reconstituted powdered milk they call 1/2 & 1/2... would have rated a 3 had they served little 1/2&1/2 containers or just plain old real 1/2&1/2 in the creamer container!
